The project “Facilitating inter-ethnic cooperation through monitoring and reporting on war crime cases” with the lead partner Internews Kosova in partnership with Advocacy Center of Democratic Culture (ACDC) has the main objective of contributing to transitional justice by documenting the war crimes court hearings in Kosovo and raise awareness of both the judicial institutions but also the general public on the issue through court monitoring and journalistic reporting.

Specific objectives are:

  • Objective 1:  Raise public awareness of the court hearing processes related to war crimes by publishing 20 short news articles based on court monitoring through teams of journalists from Albanian and Serbian media outlets;
  • Objective 2: Initiate public dialogue, deepen understanding of the war crime cases, and stimulate active public involvement;
  • Objective 3. Increase the responsiveness and transparency of judicial institutions in dealing with impunity of war crimes cases in Kosovo.

Activities:

  • Activity 1. Monitoring twenty (20) court sessions of war crime cases;
  • Activity 2. Writing and publishing twenty (20) articles based on the monitoring of the court sessions of war crime cases.

“Facilitating inter-ethnic relations cooperation through monitoring and reporting on war crime cases is supported by Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR KS), financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Internews Kosova.”
