A project for LGBTQI+ equality and visibility in North Kosovo

Project Goal

To build a more inclusive society in North Kosovo by empowering, researching, and increasing the visibility of the LGBTQI+ community.

Specific Objectives

  • Collect data on public attitudes and lived experiences of LGBTQI+ individuals
  • Raise public awareness through art and street activism
  • Create space for expression, visibility, and connection within the community
  • Engage youth in promoting tolerance

Key Activities

  • Art event during Pride Month
  • Research: 300 public opinion surveys, 3 focus groups, 10 in-depth interviews
  • Street action led by young activists
  • Final art event inspired by research findings
  • Closing conference to present results

Target Groups

  • Primary: LGBTQI+ individuals in North Kosovo
  • Secondary: The broader local community and young activists

Long-Term Impact

The project lays the foundation for future initiatives through accessible data, increased public visibility, and youth engagement. The goal is to make LGBTQI+ issues part of public discourse and advocacy in the community.

The project is funded by the Centre for Civic Education (CCE/CGO) from Montenegro, within the regional initiative "Together for LGBTQI+ Equality", which supports civil society organization projects across the Western Balkans.
