Further support to increasing public confidence in Kosovo's integrated justice institutions

NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture is conducting a project, supported by GIZ-LARP that will deal with further support the increase of public confidence in the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo; through awareness raising activities and inclusion of young lawyers into the law practice.

NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture is conducting a project, supported by GIZ-LARP that will deal with further support the increase of public confidence in the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo; through awareness raising activities and inclusion of young lawyers into the law practice.

The main goal of the project is:

Further support the increase of public confidence in the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo; and inclusion of young lawyers into the law practice.

The specific goals are:

  1. To increase public confidence in justice system in northern Kosovo;
  2. To raise the public acknowledge on citizen’s right before Kosovo’s justice institutions
  3. To facilitate inclusion of young lawyers into the law practice of Kosovo.

Project activities:

The project will be conducted through the following activities:      

  • Study visits for law graduates and young lawyers from the non-majority communities to Courts of Kosovo
  • Training on legal writing for the participating law graduates and young lawyers from northern Kosovo
  • Public discussions with the participation of judges, lawyers, attorneys, civil society activists and academics.
  • Awareness raising and promotional campaign in northern Kosovo. Media presentations, development and displaying billboards, research on the perception of population in northern Kosovo.
  • One-day conference, aiming to raise awareness of burning issue on the process of verification of Diploma’s from North Mitrovica University.
  • One-day job fair, which will gather together practicing lawyers from Law Offices in northern Kosovo, judges and prosecutors from the Basic Court of Mitrovica, Court of Appeals Division in North Mitrovica and the Basic Prosecution of Mitrovica.

Realization of the project started on 1 of September 2019 and will be implemented by 31 January 2020.
