NGO ACDC, with the support of the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS), is implementing a project addressing the issue of public procurement functionality in the four municipalities in northern Kosovo. Public procurement is a system in which public needs are fulfilled through a private offering, in this process the boundaries between public and private spheres are the thinnest, which is a sphere with enormous corrupt risks.

ACDC wants to improve its public procurement process in four northern municipalities, and in particular wants to increase the participation of local small and medium enterprises in this process. This will be carried out by the greater traceability of the entire process, as well as a number of measures that will be advocated during the project.
The overall goal of the project is to increase the transparency and greater participation of local SMEs in the public procurement process in northern Kosovo.
The specific objectives of the project are:
• Research how many local SMEs participate in public procurement;
• Research how transparent the public procurement process is
• Strengthening the role of the public and SMEs in monitoring the public procurement process;
• Improving the participation of local SMEs in the public procurement process
• Facilitating the interaction of municipal structures and SMEs with the aim of faster economic development and greater employment.
Expected results of the project are:
• Participating in local SMEs in the public procurement process in northern Kosovo has been determined through research.
• Transparency of the public procurement process at the level of the level was determined through research
• The knowledge of citizens and SMEs about the public procurement process in the north has increased
• The participation of local SMEs in the public procurement process has been improved,
• Interactions between municipal structures and local SMEs have improved.
The target groups of the project are: municipal structures; small and medium enterprises, civil society organizations, academia, media and citizens from four municipalities in northern Kosovo.
The implementation of the project started on February 1, 2019. and the project will last until July 31, 2019.
