''Increasing public trust in integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo'' GIZ-LARP
NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC), in a continues effort to improve citizen's confidence in the judiciary system in North Kosovo, is implementing a project ''Increasing public trust in integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo''. This project is supported by GIZ-LARP project.
NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC), in a continues effort to improve citizen’s confidence in the judiciary system in North Kosovo, is implementing a project “Increasing public trust in integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo” supported by GIZ-LARP project.
NGO ACDC will implement activities which will highlight the encouraging developments with regard to justice integration and will increase justice transparency and will increase public confidence in justice system in northern Kosovo, in particular through raising awareness and knowledge of citizens on the work of justice institutions and their rights before them. In addition, the project aims at facilitating further inclusion of young lawyers from non-majority communities in northern Kosovo, through activities with the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates and its Non-Majority Committee.
Overall objective of the project is to increase the level of citizens’ trust in the newly established integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo, through raising public awareness and knowledge on the work of justice institutions and citizens rights before them.
Specific objectives:
-To increase public trust in northern Kosovo towards the integrated justice institutions;
-To advocate for more transparent and more efficient work of the court
-To raise the public awareness in northern Kosovo on the work of the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo and their rights before it.
-To facilitate inclusion of young lawyers from non-majority communities into the law practice in Kosovo.
The results we want to achieve by this project are:
- Citizen’s confidence in the judiciary is increased by increasing knowledge on the Kosovo judicial system through public events and awareness raising campaign.
- Court’s transparency is increased through better cooperation with the civil society organizations, which will be formalized through an MoU.
-Efficiency of court services is identified and appropriate recommendations are developed and presented through an assessment report.
-The number of young lawyers from non-majority communities in the law practice in Kosovo is increased.
Some of the activity will be organized in cooperation with the Justice Academy of Kosovo.
The implementation of the project started on July 4th and ends on October 31st, 2018
