Advancing human rights through outreach activities
The project's overall objective is to improve equal access to justice, increase efficiency, accountability of the judicial, law enforcement, and human rights institutions, and strengthen enjoyment of human rights by all communities.
The project's overall objective is to improve equal access to justice, increase efficiency, accountability of the judicial, law enforcement, and human rights institutions, and strengthen enjoyment of human rights by all communities. It also seeks to address gaps in the enforcement of human rights and discrimination laws by supporting the Ombudsperson Institution (OIK) in its interactions with civil society organizations (CSOs) and communities.
Expected results:
Ombudsperson’s outreach efforts to civil society and communities strengthened.
Research on the perception of discrimination completed
Inclusive review of the Law on the Protection from Discrimination supported
Activities:
Organize one seminar on strategic aspect of cooperation between the OIK and CSOs
Organize five round tables, one in each of the following regions: North Mitrovica, Prizren, Pëjë/Peć, Ferizaj/ Uroševac and Gjilan/Gnjilane between the OIK and CSOs
Conduct research and draft comprehensive analysis on the perception of discrimination among residents
Organize three round tables, one in each of the following regions: North Mitrovica, Ferizaj/ Uroševac and Gjilani/ Gnjilane between representatives of the Office for Good Governance, residents, experts and CSOs
