Capacity Development of LYAC members in four northern municipality to Develop Action Plan for Local Youth Action Councils in the Northern Municipalities

The project goal is to develop capacities of LYAC members in four northern municipality to Develop Action Plan for Local Youth Action Councils on the Northern Municipalities, as well as develop capacity of youth structures targeting enhancing skills in identification of youth priorities in the north. The approach of the action is empowerment of youth through skills development, followed by on hands support during the preparation of Local Youth Action Plans. All actions are focused on increasing skills and capabilities of LYAC's in Kosovo, to become more efficient, visible, cohesive, and proactive partners in the development and democratization processes.

The project goal is to develop capacities of LYAC members in four northern municipality to Develop Action Plan for Local Youth Action Councils on the Northern Municipalities, as well as develop capacity of youth structures targeting enhancing skills in identification of youth priorities in the north.  The approach of the action is empowerment of youth through skills development, followed by on hands support during the preparation of Local Youth Action Plans. All actions are focused on increasing skills and capabilities of LYAC’s in Kosovo, to become more efficient, visible, cohesive, and proactive partners in the development and democratization processes.

The project will strengthen a) the organizational functioning of the LYACs and member CSOs by building their capacities, practical skills and knowledge related to financial, organizational and project management (incl. to claim their legal entitlements incl. continuous capacity building from the central government), b) their ability to undertake initiatives, mobilize and represent youth in their municipalities, c) Developing a Local Strategy for Youth d) the cooperation between youth focused actors at all levels and e) the information exchange between youth and youth actors.  

 

Activities:

 

  1. Organizing training (basic and advanced) on policy cycle, advocacy, persuasion, partnership building and participatory approaches for youth engagement.
  1. Organizing a training on communications and use of social media in advocacy
  1. Facilitate 1 consultative session on the legal fiscal framework
  1. Organizing joint LYAC forum for LYAC’s in the North to map local capacities and opportunities and share plans and possible joint collaboration
  1. Conducting Youth Mapping
  1. Supportin LYACs to develop Local Youth Action Plans to be endorsed by the Municipal Assembly of the municipalities in the north

The project will be implemented by Advocacy Centre for Democratic Culture together with its local partner from Leposavic, Healthy Life. The project is supported by the USAID/AKT-LS.
