Enforcement of transparency and involvement of citizens in decisions making on the local level in north Kosovo

NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture is conducting a project, supported by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) that will deal with enforcing transparency and involvement of citizens in decisions making on the local level in north Kosovo.

The goal of this project is to improve participation of citizens in decisions making process and to increase transparent governing on the local level in north Kosovo.

The main goal of the project is:

To enforce transparency and increase involvement of citizens in decisions making process, by establishing the local level mechanisms.

The specific goals are:

To improve knowledge and consciousness about significance and means of involvement of citizens in decisions making process on the local level. Project’s goal is education of members of local government in the north Kosovo, citizens and organizations of civil society about legal mechanisms for improving involvement of public in decisions making.
To contribute establishment of local mechanisms for involvement of citizens in decisions making process on the local level. This will be accomplished by initiation of municipal consulting committee boards in north Kosovo.

Project activities:

The project will be conducted through the following activities:

Field research in the four northern municipalities. Including both, research and focus groups.
Public discussions about transparent government
Public conferences
Meetings representation
Making of policy paper with recommendations for increasing transparent government - Consulting committee.
Media campaign – educative radio spot and radio programs
Visibility activities – promotion materials

Realization of the project started on 1 of August 2019 and will be implemented by 31 December 2019.
