Small rule of law initiative in northern Kosovo

NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture is conducting a project "Small rule of law initiative in northern Kosovo", supported by The German Agency for International Cooperation "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH", that will deal with further support to consolidation the increase of public confidence in the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo.

NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture is conducting a project “Small rule of law initiative in northern Kosovo”, supported by The German Agency for International Cooperation “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH”, that will deal with further support to consolidation the increase of public confidence in the integrated justice institutions in northern Kosovo.

The main goal of the project is:

Further support the consolidation of rule of law and administration of justice in northern Kosovo.

The specific goals are:

  1. To further empower young lawyers from non-majority communities to engage in law practice in Kosovo;
  2. To contribute to increasing public knowledge and awareness on the functioning of the integrated judicial institutions in northern Kosovo.

Project activities:

The project will be conducted through the following activities:         

  • NGO ACDC will organize two webinars with the group of 12-15 young lawyers, aiming to inform them on internship and employment opportunities following the end of COVID-19 pandemic. These webinars will aim to include participation of representative of the Kosovo Chamber of Advocates and also lawyers from Law offices in northern Kosovo, who will speak about their experiences in starting law practice
  • To raise public knowledge on awareness on the functioning of the integrated judicial institutions and the law practice in northern Kosovo. NGO ACDC will organize two media talks that will involve legal experts, who will speak about their work and on citizen’s rights before judicial institutions. 

Realization of the project started on 1 of July 2020 and will be implemented by 10. September 2020.
