Support to integration of young lawyers from non-majority communities in Kosovo

NGO Center for the Advocacy of Democratic Culture - "ACDC" in partnership with the Swiss Embassy is proud to present a project "Support to the integration of young lawyers from non-majority communities in Kosovo" strengthening the position of young lawyers in northern Kosovo and their role in an independent judiciary.

 

The main goal of the project:

Ongoing support for establishing the Rule of Law through the association of young lawyers from minority communities in Kosovo.

 

Specific objectives:

1. Providing support to young lawyers in northern Kosovo and their integration into the majority judicial institutions in Kosovo.

 

2. Contribute to raising awareness and quality of public information on the functioning of the integrated judicial system as well as the position of young lawyers in northern Kosovo.

 

The project will be implemented through the following activities:

• The NGO “ACDC” will organize five (5) webinars with a group of 12-15 young lawyers, with the aim of informing them about internships and employment opportunities after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. These webinars will specially aim to present the skills of writing legal acts as well as the participation of representatives of the Kosovo Bar Association, representatives of law offices from the north of Kosovo who will present their experiences from the beginnings of practicing law.

 

• In order to identify the main obstacles and challenges that stand in the way of the integration of young lawyers, NGO “ACDC” will design a questionnaire in cooperation with law firms in northern Kosovo. The questionnaire will include a minimum of 50 respondents from the ranks of young lawyers and attorneys with significant experience in practice. The findings and results of the survey will be adequately processed in a Assessment Report with precise recommendations and will be shared with all relevant institutions.

 

The realization of the project starts on October 1st, 2020 and will be completed by January 31st, 2021.
