End of the second cycle: Fourth Youth Camp Successfully Held in Prevallac

Over the past few months, within the framework of the Youth Empowered through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS) program, a total of four weekend youth camps were organized across different parts of Kosovo – in Prizren (Prizren), Gračanica (Graçanicë), Boge (Bogë), and finally, Prevalac (Prevallë). Each camp was carefully designed to bring together young people from various communities and provide them with a space for learning, exchange, and mutual understanding. The main goal of this camp cycle was to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive society through a combination of formal language workshops and non-formal educational activities, fostering intercultural dialogue, enhancing language competencies, and strengthening the sense of togetherness among youth.

May 9–11, 2025, Prevalac – Organized by NGO ACDC, the fourth and final weekend youth camp within the Youth Empowered through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS) program was successfully held. The camp brought together youth who had participated in all previous gatherings, symbolically concluding a months-long journey of linguistic, cultural, and personal empowerment of young people from diverse communities in Kosovo.

During the three-day stay in Prevalac, participants continued to improve their Serbian and Albanian language skills through structured language workshops. In addition to formal instruction, many creative activities were implemented – from team challenges creating “imaginary islands” with their own rules and anthems, to interactive games that encouraged teamwork, exchange of ideas, and mutual understanding.

Special emphasis was placed on informal learning through group walks in nature in the tourist village of Prevalac, evening film screenings, and reflective sessions that helped participants assess their progress. The final day included a closing evaluation and a certificate ceremony for all participants who successfully completed the full cycle.

This event successfully concluded the second cycle of youth camps organized by NGO ACDC, and the positive feedback from participants highlights the importance of such programs in promoting inclusion, understanding, and coexistence in a multiethnic environment.

This program is part of the project “Youth Empowered through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS),” funded by the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund and implemented by UNICEF and IOM Kosovo.
