New Cycle of Youth Camps Continued in Gračanica/Graçanicë

The second youth camp within the project “Empowering Youth through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS)” was held in Gračanica/Graçanicë from April 11 to 13, 2025. After a successful start in Prizren, the camp in Gračanica gathered again a new group of participants who continued the mission of our camps through a three-day program — empowering young people through language learning, intercultural dialogue, and shared experiential learning.

The camps bring together youth from different communities across Kosovo and provide them with space for mutual exchange, development of communication skills, learning of Serbian and Albanian, and building trust and understanding.

One of the highlights of the camp in Gračanica was the visit to the medieval-themed park “Ordo Draconis.” The participants had the opportunity to step into the Middle Ages through an authentic and educational experience, which included a tour of the museum featuring replicas of medieval weapons, armor, and clothing, a live demonstration of blacksmithing, and archery — an activity everyone truly enjoyed. In addition to its educational value, this visit contributed to further bonding through shared experiences and teamwork.

We thank all the participants for the energy, dedication, and openness they demonstrated throughout the camp. Their participation once again proves that young people play a key role in building a more inclusive and cohesive society.

This program is part of the project “Empowering Youth through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS),” funded by the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund and implemented by UNICEF and IOM Kosovo.
