Our Rivers, Our Future – Clean-Up Action in North Mitrovica

Together with employees from GIZ, the ACDC team, and the Environmental Protection Inspectorate from the central level, high school students and university students from North Mitrovica cleaned a section of the Ibar River as part of the Kosovo Sustainable Development Week (KSDW).

Their energy, teamwork, and dedication turned an ordinary day into a powerful act of care for our environment. Thanks to unity and collaboration, dozens of bags of waste were collected – but the story doesn’t end there! The collected material will be transformed into a sculpture as part of a creative environmental initiative by KSDW and ACDC, turning waste into a strong symbol of sustainability and unity.

The goal of the project “Youth for Clean Rivers,” supported by GIZ, is to empower young people in North Mitrovica to actively participate in the protection of water and the environment through practical actions and creative initiatives.
