The conference on improving the position of pregnant women and young mothers took place today at the EU House in North Mitrovica. The panelists included Gordana Djoric, President of the Business Women's Association "Avenija," and Ines Aljović Mihajlović, Program Officer at ACDC. The event was moderated by Ivana Vanovac.
During the conference, Ines Aljović Mihajlović presented the research conducted by the NGO ACDC, which focused on the challenges faced by pregnant women and young mothers in the labor market and which aimed to emphasize the importance of non-discrimination in labor laws.
President of the Business Women's Association "Avenija", Gordana Djoric drew attention to the impact of the current unstable political situation and stated that good governance is a prerequisite for respecting the rights of pregnant women and young mothers in the workplace.
The panelists also engaged in discussions on crucial topics such as workplace flexibility, safety measures, and sustainable solutions aimed at eliminating barriers encountered by young mothers and pregnant women in their work environments.
The conference was organized within the project Advocating for a better position of pregnant women and young mothers, implemented by NGO ACDC. The project aimed to provide support to women in Kosovo by raising awareness about the importance of non-discrimination in the field of labour law, as well as identifying the attitude of citizens, but primarily women, about the rights and obligations of employees.
The grant is funded by the European Union in Kosovo, in the scope of the "Protecting and Promoting Labour Rights of Vulnerable Groups in the Labour Market" project, implemented by Advocacy Training and Resource Center - ATRC in partnership with BIRN Kosovo.
