Discovering Unity Through Youth Camp Experiences

Every new acquaintance is a story in itself. How important that story is, I learned precisely during my stay at the “Youth Camp.” I met many new people, visited new places, gained new knowledge, and made new friendships.

Today, when we are often faced with different divisions in a world of stereotypes and barriers, even we were not fully aware of how important events like these are. Getting to know different cultures, languages, and customs through games and interesting lectures helped me understand that despite our differences, human connections can become stronger.

Learning through play and entertainment made the extracurricular activities meaningful, and we were satisfied. The camp content was very diverse, and I believe that’s what we participants liked the most, because it was never monotonous and something was always happening. Games, presentations, lectures, and the exchange of opinions were just some of the activities through which we gained new knowledge. We were mostly divided into multiethnic groups to break down barriers early, accept differences, and support each other in the educational activities. My favorite moments were when someone faced language difficulties, and we helped each other. Even if we didn’t know each other's languages, we would always find a way to understand and communicate.

The locations we visited, such as the Gračanica Monastery and Prizren, also left a wonderful impression. During these visits, we would walk together as a community and exchange information about each other's cultures, religious sites, and cultural heritage. One particularly interesting experience was trying archery — everyone had the opportunity to test their skills and precision.

This type of camp greatly helps in bringing people together and offers not only entertainment but also educational value. And the best way to learn is through fun. We learn about understanding, solidarity, and true values that come to light through these experiences. It is only then that we realize how much we are capable of. We discover our own talents and abilities through activities we might not have had the chance to try before.

I would love to continue participating in such camps, with the goal of learning the Albanian language, because I believe it is very important for communication, to meet even more new people, and to have fun. Participating in the “Youth Camp” helped me embrace diversity more strongly and motivated me to help others build bridges between multiethnic groups. It also taught me that learning does not have to be boring and dry — on the contrary, with the right people and some effort, it can be an exciting and positive experience.
