NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture - ACDC with financial support from the US Embassy in Pristina is implementing a project "Anti-corruption campaign in northern Kosovo" in order to contribute to solving the problem of corruption in northern Kosovo by educating civil society activists on the measures and mechanisms used in the fight against corruption, and raising awareness of both local institutions and citizens about the importance of combating corruption.
NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture - ACDC with financial support from the US Embassy in Pristina is implementing a project "Anti-corruption campaign in northern Kosovo" in order to contribute to solving the problem of corruption in northern Kosovo by educating civil society activists on the measures and mechanisms used in the fight against corruption, and raising awareness of both local institutions and citizens about the importance of combating corruption.
Therefore, the project is focused on the empowerment of civil society organizations in northern Kosovo to conduct monitoring and reporting on corruption, but also to advocate anti-corruption actions. In addition, one of the goals of the project is establishment of the Anti-corruption Forum, which will bring together organizations and civil society activists to ensure the sustainability of anti-corruption actions.
The overall objective of the project is to empower civil sector in the north of Kosovo and raising awareness of citizens and local institutions about the importance and necessity for the elimination of corruption.
Specific objectives are:
1. Implementation of anti-corruption campaign in cooperation with the local media.
2. Raising awareness of citizens and local governments / institutions on corruption issues and education on mechanisms for prevention and elimination of corruption.
3. Strengthening civil sector to conduct monitoring and reporting on corruption.
4. The establishment of synergy between civil society organizations and other stakeholders against corruption.
The project will last six months and implementation of the project started at March 1st 2015.
