Conference on the Judiciary in Northern Kosovo: Representation, Functionality, and Future Perspectives

Institutional representation, the functioning of the judiciary, and the prospects for the return of judges, prosecutors, and administrative staff from the Serbian community were the focus of a conference organized on 29 June 2026 in Prishtina by NGO ACDC with the support of UNMIK (United Nations Mission in Kosovo).

Representatives of judicial institutions, the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, the legal profession, international organizations, and civil society discussed the challenges facing the judiciary in northern Kosovo since 2022, with particular attention to access to justice, language rights, the representation of non-majority communities, and strengthening public trust in the justice system.

The dialogue will continue next month at a conference in North Mitrovica.
