Presentation of the report on women's rights to inherit property

BIRN in cooperation with ACDC has presented the report "Kosovo Women's Right to Inherit Property". Report was presented by the Author Rron Gjinovci and Miss. Marija Miskovic, lawyer engaged to monitor court cases regarding women's property rights in the north also presented her findings.

During the discussion there were proposals on how the written law on Gender equality could override Customary Law that is dominant all over Kosovo. It also has been stressed that women from all communities face the same obstacle when it comes to right to inherit property.
