A three-day Youth Camp aimed at fostering understanding and cooperation among young people from different communities successfully concluded at Hotel Magra Austria in Peja/Peć.
Held from October 4-6, 2024, the camp brought together youth aged 13 to 18 from diverse backgrounds, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn Albanian and Serbian, enhance their language skills, and build lasting relationships.
Designed to promote mutual learning, cultural appreciation, and teamwork, the camp featured a series of interactive workshops, group discussions, and engaging activities. The camp began with interactive language sessions using the VOCUP methodology, facilitating effective communication and cultural exchange.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in team-building activities that fostered cooperation and strengthened their connections. Additionally, a visit to the Patriarchate of Peć, one of the most significant Serbian Orthodox monasteries, allowed participants to delve into its rich history and cultural heritage.
Evenings were filled with enjoyable social games that encouraged strategic thinking and teamwork, providing opportunities for participants to bond and forge friendships.
This event marks the first of several camps planned in various locations across Kosovo in the coming months, as we continue to promote connections and mutual understanding among youth. These camps are part of the “Youth Empowered through Inclusive Schools and Societies (YESS)” project, funded by the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund and implemented by UNICEF and IOM.
