On 28.06.2018 NGO ACDC have organized fourth workshop as a part of the project "PROVISION OF SERVICES TO IMPROVE COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE YOUTH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOs) FROM THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE RIVER IBAR", supported by the EU Office in Kosovo.
On 28.06.2018 NGO ACDC have organized fourth workshop as a part of the project “PROVISION OF SERVICES TO IMPROVE COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE YOUTH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOs) FROM THE NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE RIVER IBAR”, supported by the EU Office in Kosovo.
The subject of the fourth workshop was “Youth/student activism-increases or dying”. Debate was organized in restaurant Vapiano in south Mitrovica. The panelists had the opportunity to discuss the activities of students through university programs as well as from the activities of youth associations and youth groups and the results from these activities. Present participants especially students from the Mitrovica University had discussed this topic as well and contributed with their comments and suggestions.
The panelists at the workshop were:
· Gresa Jashari – Youth assembly Kosovo
· Shend Musliu – Students parliament from “Isa Boletini” university of Mitrovica
· Haris Ademi - KVRL Mitrovica
· Besnik Hoti – Hand extension initiative
· Fahri Jashari - DKRS Mitrovica,
· Dusan Radakovic - NGO ACDC
The panelists and students had the opportunity to discuss the current situation from their perspective and explained current activities, the representatives from the Mitrovica University as well as the respective Youth groups as the main activists that are showing their will, knowledge and initiatives gave their point of view and weather these efforts are giving right results and weather it needs to be improved and include more individuals, students, pupils and youth associations in the north and south of Mitrovica.
The conclusion of the fourth workshop regarding the Youth/student activism and its results is lack of proper support between youth CSOs and universities with financial assistance as the crucial component either from the universities or from local institutions
