Community resilience Forum (CRF) was held in Belgrade on 20th and 21st of October as part of EU TACSO 3 project. Attendees of the Forum were representatives of civil society organizations from Western Balkans countries and Turkey. Representatives from Kosovo were members of organizations Kosovo Civil Society Foundation, Kosovo Women’s Network and Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture.

Opening topic of the first day was Why community matters and how do we know what community needs. Biljana Dakić Djordjević, executive director of Trag Foundation was talking about this and the Marina Škrabalo from SOLIDARNA Foundation from Croatia talked about Rebuilding trust with communities in the time of crisis – A view from the EU experience. After that participants had the opportunity to continue their work in parallel sessions in subjects as follows:
On the second day subject was the EU financial support to third parties.
Subject was started by Gabi Hagmueller with examples of good practices from neighborhood and region. After that Milorad Bijeletić, executive director of Belgrade Open School from Serbia, Dren Puka, Department Director for Research, Advocacy and Resource Center, Kosovo Civil Society Foundation and dr. Tezcan Eralp Abay General Director from Civil Society Development Centre (STGM) from Turkey were talking about Mentoring and monitoring- The role of CSOs managing financial support to third parties. Dragan Nedeljković, Protok 21, Serbia and Ozan Devrim Yay Life, Memory and Freedom Association, Turkey, were talking about Value of EU financial support to local communities – experience of some community based CSO grant beneficiaries. After this lecture participants had the opportunity to share their experience concerning following topics:
The Forum itself received all the accolades from the participants as well as from organizers and it was finished with stating clear ideas for improving regional work of civil society and better directing funds from EU on community priorities of WBC and Turkey. In addition to the many insights gathered by the participants during the forum, it is important to note that many acquaintances took place through this event and created opportunities for new networking of civil society organizations throughout the region. The Center for the Advocacy of Democratic Culture was represented at this Forum by Slobodan Stošić, Program Manager.
