The panel discussion was moderated by Ognjen Gogić, with panelists Andrea Todić (ACDC) and Arber Nuhiu (CSGD).
Andrea Todić presented the project “Bringing Pride to the North”, which ACDC will implement as part of the regional initiative “Together for LGBTQI+ Equality”. The project opens LGBTQI+ issues in the north of Kosovo for the first time in a systematic way, focusing on public opinion research, artistic activism, and community dialogue.

The project manager, Andrea Todić, emphasized that currently there is no reliable data on the position of LGBTQI+ individuals in northern Kosovo, which is why gathering and analyzing information is essential for planning and implementing future activities.

Arber Nuhiu from CSGD highlighted the importance of cultural activities and art as powerful tools for encouraging dialogue and breaking down prejudice. "Through art and culture, we create change in society. Artistic works often speak louder than any other form of promotion."

He also pointed out that the level of homophobia remains very high and that there is a clear need to conduct similar research and initiatives in northern Kosovo, where such approaches are still rare.

It was concluded that a strategic approach is necessary in working with local communities in the north of Kosovo, along with strong commitment to the respect and protection of human rights for all citizens.

This project is implemented by the NGO ACDC, as part of the broader project “Together for LGBTQI+ Equality”, led by the Center for Civic Education (CGO), in partnership with ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey, Queer Montenegro, Queer Center from Skopje, Tuzla Open Center, NGO OMSA from Albania, and the Center for Social Group Development from Kosovo. The project is funded by the European Union.
