The Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture (ACDC) is pleased to invite you to attend the conference "Judiciary in Northern Kosovo: Current Challenges and Perspectives for Institutional Development" organized within the framework of the project "Support to Reintegration, Language Rights and Backlog Reduction," with the support of UNMIK.
The conference will bring together legal experts, attorneys, representatives of civil society organizations, international stakeholders, and other participants interested in judicial reform to discuss the current state of the judiciary in Northern Kosovo, the impact of institutional challenges on access to justice, and possible pathways for strengthening judicial institutions and increasing the participation of non-majority communities in the justice system.
During the discussion, the consequences of the underrepresentation of non-majority communities in judicial institutions, obstacles to ensuring effective access to justice, and the conditions that could contribute to the greater inclusion of judicial professionals in the institutional system will be examined.
Special emphasis will be placed on the exchange of experiences and perspectives among institutional representatives, legal experts, and civil society organizations, with the aim of identifying key challenges and formulating recommendations that can contribute to a more efficient, inclusive, and accessible justice system, while strengthening public confidence in the rule of law and judicial institutions.
