NGO Advocacy Center for Democratic Culture will also organize court monitoring as well as monitoring of the competent service involved in probate proceedings, and compare findings with the reality in the field. Special focus should be paid on the public services that should act ex officio in cases involving property rights.
Overall objective: Mobilization of the community in rural areas on the issue of Gender Equality, women’s inheritance and property rights in general.
Specific objectives:
-SO1 To raise knowledge and awareness about the equal rights that women have in probate proceedings and exercise of property rights in rural areas through educational seasons.
-SO 2 To monitor and report court and notary services when it comes to property rights and to produce recommendation for delivering to Kosovo Judicial Council.
-SO 3 To investigate, monitor and report on relations between institutions that are in charge of starting probate proceedings ex officio.
In order to ensure measurability of the proposed action NGO ACDC will make a survey in the beginning that will give results about the percentage of property women own in rural areas and the level of knowledge citizens have about their property rights in rural area. The survey will be followed by the conference for presenting findings of the survey .The same survey will be conducted at the end of the project and presented in the form of report in order to measure the achievements of the proposed intervention.
Proposed action is completely in line with the Draft National Strategy for Property Rights produced by Kosovo government. ACDC will fully support implementation of the strategy and give full contribution in enhancing the use of property rights in practice.
Finally, the project will involve cooperation with the Kosovo Property Agency in order to facilitate their activities with the citizens and also increase the visibility of their work in northern Kosovo.
