Seminar Held within the Forum for Dialogue between the Ombudsperson Institution and Civil Society Organizations

Durrës, Albania – From April 25 to 27, 2025, the third seminar within the Forum for Dialogue between the Ombudsperson Institution and civil society organizations was held, organized by NGO ACDC as part of the project "Advancing human rights through outreach activities," supported by UNMIK.

The seminar gathered representatives of the Ombudsperson Institution and civil society organizations, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and defining future directions of action in the field of human rights protection and promotion.

The first day of the seminar began with a report by the Ombudsperson Institution on one year of Forum activities, highlighting the importance of the Forum as a successful model of cooperation with civil society, and reaffirming the commitment to further deepen and strengthen this collaboration in the coming period.

During the presentations, the importance of carefully selecting topics to be addressed through the Forum’s work was emphasized, taking into account current challenges in the field of human rights. Participants had the opportunity to review previous reports and the results of local meetings held across Kosovo. It was particularly noted that, in cooperation with NGO ACDC and the OSCE Mission, 14 local meetings were successfully organized, bringing the Forum closer to citizens and local communities.

On the second and third days of the Forum, participants focused on defining new goals and directions of action for the 2025–2026 period. The discussions were substantive and focused on the specific challenges faced by civil society organizations, as well as on strengthening their role in service provision and cooperation with institutions.
