Within the project ``Justice and the People in the north of Kosovo`` the citizens of North Mitrovica and Zvecan organized two parallel street actions with different meaning, but the same purpose. On 17th and 18th of December citizens of North Mitrovica and Zvecan distributed flyers and posters all over their municipalities in order to raise awareness of citizens and remind the decision-makers of their responsibility to resolve certain local problems.

After numerous meetings with Kosovo Police and citizens our participants concluded that the high percentage of citizens is not aware which number they should call in the case of emergency. In addition, Kosovo Police stated that their job would be much easier if the citizens would call the emergency number and reported a potential crime.

The citizens and especially students were not aware which number they should call and if the calls are anonymous. In order to spread the word, the participants of the ``Justice and People in the North of Kosovo`` organized a promo campaign on Thursday 17th of December with flyers and posters with the official number of the Police. Additionally, two billboards are set up in the center of the city in order for citizens to be aware of whom to call if they are in need or their life is threatened.

On contrary, the citizens of Zvecan had a similar camping, but with different purpose. Since the railways ramps are not functioning and there is no opportunity to be fixed the citizens organized the above mentioned campaign to spread the word, share the information regarding the ramps and to invite their follow citizens to respect traffic rules and drive safely.

Despite the fact that the participants of the ``Justice and the People campaign`` had several meetings with Railways Serbia in Zvecan and local-self-government the amount of mine required for the ramps to be fixed is approximately close to 40.000 euros. Both local-self-government and Railways Serbia in Zvecan do not have fund to repair the damage. Despite that fact the citizens are determent to resolve the above mentioned issue and to make additional pressure on decision makers in order to make the first steps towards higher level of traffic safety in their municipality.
