Worlds AIDS day

Discrimination and stigma related to HIV-positive people is the biggest obstacle in providing support to people living with this disease. Negative attitudes lead to feelings of guilt, shame, and isolation in HIV-positive individuals. Such community actions violate human rights, create social inequalities, and disadvantage individuals living with AIDS. It follows that people with HIV/AIDS are prevented from exercising their basic human rights and fundamental freedoms that stem from the values of dignity and equality.

Discrimination and stigma related to HIV-positive people is the biggest obstacle in providing support to people living with this disease. Negative views cause HIV-positive people to feel guilty, ashamed, and alone. Such community actions violate human rights, create social inequalities, and disadvantage individuals living with AIDS. As a result, people with HIV/AIDS are prevented from exercising their basic human rights and fundamental freedoms that stem from the values of dignity and equality.
In accordance with today's date, we urge individuals to educate themselves about HIV and AIDS, ways of transmission, prevention measures, the use of correct and non-discriminatory terminology and positive behavior, to change attitudes and destroy prejudices, and to support and understand. Let's provide HIV/AIDS-positive people with a dignified life!
